Considering a career in the construction industry? Good! It needs you. Why? Look at these statistics from a recent workforce survey led by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and Autodesk:
- 85% of surveyed firms have open positions they are trying to fill.
- 61% of surveyed firms said labor shortages have delayed projects.
- 81% of respondents said their firm’s base pay rates have increased over the last year.
Additionally, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 390,000 job openings last month. With an average hourly wage of $37.24 and plenty of job openings, now is the perfect time to get licensed and enter the industry.
But are you unsure if you can afford to complete your state’s required pre-license training? As a leading online educator who has helped thousands of contractors get licensed, we want to ensure anyone can get a job in this rebounding industry.
Pre-License and Exam Prep Scholarship Opportunities
You usually don’t need a college degree to get a good construction job. However, most states require applicants to complete training before getting licensed.
Proper training can separate you from the competition when job hunting. According to the AGC and Autodesk survey, 68% of firms have struggled to fill positions because applicants lack the qualifications, knowledge, and skills required to work.
To create opportunities for success in the construction industry, we’re happy to offer two types of scholarships. One is for military personnel, and one is for students.
Military Scholarship
This scholarship is for veterans who served in any branch of the United States Armed Forces and were honorably discharged. If you’re selected, the scholarship covers the cost of either a pre-license course or exam prep program.
